Union Pacific 4014 & 4012 Reunite At Steamtown NHS (6/30/2026)

The Coast to Coast tour continues on to the Electric City, aka Scranton, PA; thus being my first time setting foot at Steamtown since the May 2016 National Train Day event there. 0:18 Intro scenes & slideshow. 2:05 Arriving at Steamtown NHS. During arrival, we pass Rahway Valley #15 on display coupled to a cut of freight cars, along with Lehigh Valley caboose #1776 displayed & having been restored to its Bicentennial appearance. 3:42 The Big Boys come into view. There is a huge line of people waiting to tour 4012's cab. 4:10 Some switching action, as the assisting diesels of UP 4014's train, now joined by UP #1616, couple up the excursion consist to prepare for UP 4014's departure from Scranton. UP SD70M #1616 - Abraham Lincoln NS SD70ACe #1776 - The Bell UP SD70M #1776 - Flag Scheme with America 250 logos lazily slapped on 6:41 The switching moves continue, albeit shot inside the Electric City Trolley Museum. 7:51 Some shots of the Big Boys along with RDG #2124 as we walk towards Steamtown's roundhouse. 8:00 We have entered the roundhouse complex. We see some rolling stock and locomotives on display, including the recently acquired NKP 190 (Really an ex-ATSF PA-1 dressed in a NKP livery). 9:47 Another shot of the UP excursion being switched and assembled to be ready for UP 4014's departure, from inside the roundhouse. 10:32 We finally get up close to the Big Boys reuniting for the first time since retirement from service. 10:46: Shots of UP 4014's excursion consist plus more of Steamtown's equipment from the pedestrian bridge connecting to The Marketplace at Steamtown. 13:41 UP 4014 blows steam from it's safety valve. 14:29 More of the roundhouse tour, including checking out exhibits & playing an interactive quiz game on train whistle procedures. 15:53 More shots of the equipment displayed outside in the roundhouse complex. 16:04 We see the locomotives inside the roundhouse, including Baldwin Locomotive Works #26, Canadian National #3254, Canadian Pacific #2317, Lackawanna #565, Nickel Plate Road #759, and Grand Trunk Western #6039. Of all the engines, Baldwin Locomotive Works #26 is the only operational one after undergoing a decades long restoration until being completed by 2016. We also see some rolling stock displayed in the roundhouse as well. 17:48 The roundhouse tour continues, as we go inside the L&N railway post office and view more exhibits. 19:18 After the roundhouse tour, UP 4014 starts blowing it's whistle at intervals. 20:34 We now tour the Electric City Trolley Museum. This is my first time actually setting foot inside said museum. Inside we see various exhibits, streetcars on display, and even an overhead G scale model railroad operating. 24:48 To end the day, Delaware Lackawanna #1776 passes by surprise.
