I’ve driven through Nevada more times than I can count… but this time felt different. I decided to camp completely alone off the Extraterrestrial Highway near Area 51—and what started as a quiet desert night quickly turned into something I can’t fully explain. From strange abandoned places… to a bat dive-bombing me… to a series of bizarre and unexpected events inside the van (including one I still can’t believe happened)… this trip took a turn I didn’t see coming.
