Below freezing temperatures, inability to get around, no proper accommodations, and other factors, I say to hell with these factors. If you want to see mountains in pompon glory, then get ready to make some sacrifices. In this quest for redemption, we, a group of four people, traveled to Spiti Valley on Renault Duster. Just as Renault Duster never let us down during the whole journey, the beauty of Spiti valley also fulfilled its worth. Beautiful landscape, beautiful people, and beautiful weather, besides this there is another side of Spiti Valley; the adventure part. There is an adventure, there is food, and most importantly there are indigenous costumes. The indigenous costumes worn by the people of Spiti Valley in festivals give it a retro feel and indicate that how much they are still attached to the tradition with which the Spitian culture has thrived so far. It is one place in which there is no sad face. Everyone is so much happy and cheerful. Winter seems one of the most stress-free times of the year. In the rest of the world, where people cherish this time as being the time where they can sit idle away from the chilly winds, and enjoy their favorite cuisine over a cup of coffee, people in Spiti used to gather essential commodities such as food, firewood, and clothes in the chilling temperature of around -25°C. To live a luxurious life over here is a great challenge. People wash their clothes in chilling water gushing through the valleys, while children made their skateboards from wood; as they don’t have the privilege to buy metal skateboards. Without these luxuries, the children were very happy and energetic at the same time. This is phenomenal, makes one realize that how much grateful we are to get all those luxuries in life.
