Marketing and business development functions in manufacturing are often not as developed as they could be. I recently met Richard Spears, the marketing manager at PP Control and Automation, based in the West Midlands, UK. They do part or full machine build outsourcing. I had a great time touring their factory with him and seeing the technology in action. Their marketing function is well developed, helping to scale the business and winning new work.
