Difficulty: Tai Shing Shek Stream (3 stars) / Wong Mu Shek Stream (4.5 stars) Distance: Approx. 8.6km Time: Approx. 5 hours Tai Shing Shek Stream is located at the northern end of Shing Mun Reservoir, originating from Tai Mo Shan, the highest peak in Hong Kong, near Tsuen Wan. It is the largest ravine in Hong Kong. Tai Shing Shek Stream has always been considered the first training ground for first-time ravine climbers. Due to its beginner-level difficulty, the trail is well-maintained and offers diverse and abundant scenery. There are also several exit points, making it a good place for beginners to test their skills. Wong Mu Shek Stream originates in the eastern part of Tai Mo Shan and flows into Tai Shing Shek Stream above Rhododendron Pool. It is named after a feng shui spot near its source called "Wong Mu's Military Inspection." Visitors can start from Pineapple Dam at Shing Mun Reservoir, take the Family Trail to the hillside opposite the entrance to Wong Mu Shek Stream, and follow the trail through the sparse forest to enter the ravine. The stream is narrower and steeper than the Dacheng Stone Stream, with a long waterfall stretching over 200 feet, winding like a white dragon in flight, hence the name "One Dragon," also known as "Queen Mother Waterfall."
