Previously, to get an STL model from a photograph, you had to search for a ready-made model online or create one yourself in Blender or Fusion 360. Now, AI services have emerged that promise to turn an ordinary image into a fully functional 3D model in just a few minutes. In this video, I tested Hitem3D on a real-world example: I took a photo of an IKEA vase, converted it into a 3D model, prepared it for printing, and printed it on a 3D printer. Then I tried creating a completely new object using ChatGPT and turning it back into a printable model. If this video gets a good amount of engagement, in the next video I'll show you how to quickly refine similar models in Blender and turn them into high-quality STL files for printing.
