Hotel Renaissance Lapa Porto

A bit gutted to be honest! Super unimpressed by reception at check in and getting room cards chucked at us with no instructions how to get to room…. We managed in end but it took 3 attempts and 10 minutes 🙄 Super close to Lapa station so easy to get here from hotel 👍 The room was lovely and cleaned daily 👍 A quick walk to the center, so well located. Drinks in the bar were expensive, but good - beater to get a bottle of wine than by the glass. Had a meal in restaurant, lovely but €120 - not really worth it… It’s a Marriott hotel which I hadn’t realised - lots of business travellers and a real tourist draw - I got the impression that people stayed 2 or 3 days not a week like us. And then despite speaking to reception the day before leaving - as leaving early in morning - they charged my card another €350 on my last day, so had to go to reception early on last day to try and sort - I was just fobbed off and still haven’t had that money back as I write this; absolutely no reason for them to have taken this - I imagine it was a mistake by the receptionist I spoke to yesterday…. But hey, it’s only (my) money 👀🙄👀
