This time, I explored the Zao Echo Line, a scenic road in Tohoku that you absolutely must visit at least once in your life. The Zao Echo Line is a mountain road that traverses the Zao mountain range, spanning Miyagi and Yamagata prefectures in Tohoku. This time, I traveled from Miyagi Prefecture towards Yamagata Prefecture. I was deeply moved by the beauty of the seasonal snow corridors (snow walls), the snow-capped Zao mountain range, the emerald green Okama crater lake, and the lush green mountains. Please enjoy the spectacular scenery unique to Tohoku. For lunch, I enjoyed delicious Jingisukan (grilled lamb) and dessert cake at a rest house in Zao Sarukura. You can even enjoy yakiniku (grilled meat) alone! I hope this is helpful as it's a recommended touring and driving route in Tohoku.
