I Built a $10 Gold Highbanker.. Can It Beat a $600 One?

Can a $10 DIY highbanker really compete with a $600 professional one? We decided to find out. Jesse brought his commercial Gold Trek highbanker, and I built my own for about ten bucks using scrap wood, a cooler, and a few pallets I had laying around. We ran them side-by-side on the same creek to see if spending hundreds of dollars actually meant finding more gold. The results surprised us. The professional highbanker was definitely faster and more efficient, but by the end of the day, my homemade setup recovered nearly the same amount of gold. Maybe you don't need a $600 highbanker after all. And yes, maybe this isn't the "correct" way to use a highbanker, but like I said in the video, one claim had gold, the other had water, so we had to compromise by filling buckets. Real adventures. Real gold.
