La musicienne Irène Drésel revient sur ses BO favorites.

“Me, I make techno!”—the implication being that composing film scores was out of the question. And yet, Irène Drésel hit the mark by composing the score for a Laure Calamy on the verge of exploding in “Full Time,” Éric Gravel’s feature film released in spring 2022. First attempt, masterstroke: the musician won the César Award for Best Original Score in 2023. For the first time in forty-eight editions, a man didn’t take home the prize. She dedicated it, in fact, to all women composers of music for film and television. While she was a member of the jury at the last Les Arcs Film Festival, we asked her for our “Original Soundtrack” interview.
