Sentro Counter Failure Strip down & Fix??

How I hopefully fixed the original counter on my SENTRO 48 needle knitting machine. I'm completely new to knitting with a loom and with the circular knitting machines. But I have to say I'm really enjoying it. Sadly on the 1st hat project using my Sentro (Box marked JAMIT) the counter failed on row 59, and the machine started to make a horrible crunching noise when passing the white needle. Also the carriage would rise slightly, so I decided to investigate. Sorry the video isn't very professional like so many of you YT knitters, but I hope to improve. I'm not recommending you follow this video as an instructional video, I'm just showing how I got the the root of the problem on my machine.
