المناظرة الوطنية البحرية | طنجة 2026 — المغرب نحو سيادة لوجستية وتجارية في الفضاء الأطلسي الإفريقي

The first National Maritime Conference opened today in Tangier, under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God grant him victory, with the participation of numerous officials and economic and institutional stakeholders in the fields of maritime transport, logistics, and foreign trade. Mr. Omar Hejira, Secretary of State to the Minister of Industry and Trade in charge of Foreign Trade, along with Mr. Nizar Baraka, Minister of Equipment and Water, and Mr. Abdel Samad Qayouh, Minister of Transport and Logistics, participated in the opening ministerial session, which was dedicated to discussing the strategic challenges of the maritime economy, the role of the maritime sector in strengthening the Kingdom's logistical and commercial sovereignty, and the prospects for developing trade with the Afro-Atlantic region. This meeting provided an opportunity to emphasize the importance of the maritime sector as the backbone of international trade, with ports handling approximately 95% of the Kingdom's foreign trade. It also highlighted the strategic importance of the major port infrastructure projects launched by Morocco under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God grant him victory, most notably the Tangier Med port, the Nador West Med port, and the Dakhla Atlantic port. These are considered structuring projects that reinforce the Kingdom's position as a global maritime and logistics hub linking Europe, Africa, and the Atlantic region. The African Atlantic coast represents a promising economic space, encompassing 23 countries that account for approximately 55% of the African continent's GDP and 46% of its population. Annual trade in this region exceeds $1.5 trillion, underscoring the scale of the economic and investment opportunities that this strategic depth offers Morocco. In this context, Morocco, guided by the insightful vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, continues to strengthen its African economic integration by activating the African Continental Free Trade Area, accelerating digitalization, developing modern logistics corridors, expanding the base of national exporters, diversifying exports, and establishing mutually beneficial partnerships with various African countries. The real challenge today remains building efficient and integrated logistics corridors and developing African value chains capable of leveraging the enormous economic potential of the African Atlantic region and transforming it into a genuine engine for achieving shared development and sustainable prosperity.
