Donald Lambert "Willow Weep For Me" ca. 1960, Wallace's #19

Donald Lambert performs at Wallace's High Tavern, his home base at the time. Frank Wallace, while tending bar, kept a small reel to reel tape recorder within easy reach and recorded many nights of Lambert at work. Often times Lamb would start playing a number before Frank could hit the record button resulting in many missed beginnings of tunes. I've transferred and cleaned up the recordings, which ended up in the collection of Peter and Harvey Ballance, as best as I could for my own listening enjoyment and now share a selection of them here. Whenever possible I have reconstructed the lost beginning of a tune by using a similar or identical passage from a later chorus. Not historically accurate but again only for my own listening purposes. Sourced from the original reel to reel tapes. Wallace's #19 is the last of the reel to reel tapes that I acquired from the Peter and Harvey Ballance collection. Enjoy!
