Inside Ben-Gvir's Vision for Israel: Ministers of Chaos

This documentary tells the story of the tragedy of the Hamas attack on Israel on Saturday 7 October 2023, and examines the responsibilities of the years of power of a singular prime minister who fractured in order to last, and analyses the sequence of decisions and events that led to the war that is unfolding before our eyes. With the exception of the period between 2021 and 2022, Benjamin Netanyahu has presided over Israel's destiny without interruption since February 2009. If we add a first term of office between 1996 and 1999, this is the longest reign for a prime minister in this young democracy. For his followers, he was King Bibi, a magician who guaranteed the country's security, prosperity and influence in the world. All that was shattered in one morning, on 7 October 2023. King Bibi is naked! And some of his supporters discovered that what his opponents had been denouncing for years was true. Benjamin Netanyahu is a divider who has spent his entire career fanning the flames of the internal divisions in Israeli society in order to stay in power at all costs. If the time has not yet come for Israelis to demand accountability, it will come quickly. This film analyses how, throughout his reign, Benjamin Netanyahu paved the way that made this tragedy possible. For while Hamas alone is responsible for the horror and savagery that befell the Israeli population on 7 October, the failure of the state to prevent it is the failure of the man who governs the country today. The film is structured around major themes designed to show how the Netanyahu doctrine has been applied on the national stage, on the Palestinian question, on the geopolitical terrain, on the security issue and in the relationship with the elites. Each theme will be developed chronologically, drawing on archive material and interviews with key players and experts. As the transition from one theme to another generates flashbacks that are necessary for the story to unfold, we will use a timeline to help the viewer grasp the temporality of the story through a visual medium. This documentary was produced by Yuzu Productions and directed by Jérôme Sesquin & Nitzan Perelman.
