Here I show you the Right Way to Elasticate a Fishing Whip. The fishing whip is a fantastic tool for beginners to take up fishing with. It's very light, there are no reels to worry about and they are really inexpensive too. As standard a fishing whip is fitted with something called a flick tip which is simply a fixed eye at the end to tie on your fishing line, float and hook (your 'rig'). This is ok when fishing for small fish but hooking something bigger might get you into trouble. Elasticating a whip has a couple of advantages of using a flick tip alone: You will hit more bites and hook more fish as you are less likely to 'bump' fish off on the strike (aka pulling the hook and bait out of the fishes mouth). This makes it much more enjoyable for beginners The elastic provides a cushion should you hook a bigger fish, and allows you to play the fish until it is tired. Items you will need: A fishing whip with a hollow tip section Internal fitting ptfe pole bush 4-6 rating drennan aqua bungee elastic Dacron pole elastic connectors (smaller the better.
