How GOOD would Hitmonchan be in Pokemon Yellow with its Gen 2 Special Defense?

Fire Punch, Ice Punch, and Thunderpunch should have been great moves for Hitmonchan. The problem? Gen 1 classifies al of these as special moves and Hitmonchan had only 35 Base Special in Gen 1 - on par with Pidgey and lower than Pokemon like Diglett, Ekans, and Zubat. It was so bad that the devs bumped it up to 110 Special Defense starting in Gen 2. But what if it got its Gen 2 base Special Defense as its Gen 1 Base Special Stat?
