Citizen Vigilante tells the story of an ordinary man who descends into vigilante justice after his mother is murdered by migrant criminals, and then targets both the offenders and the elected officials who protect them. The film is banned in Germany, as the FSK classification board refused to rate it on the grounds that it incites violence against migrants, which amounts to a de facto ban in theaters and on regulated platforms. Uwe Boll, himself German, denounces this as political censorship and asserts that his thriller merely reflects a social reality that people refuse to confront.
