German Army - Tank Camouflage (1939-1945) Support: https://www.paypal.me/WarHistory Designs: https://teespring.com/stores/warhistory In the early stages of the war in Poland and France, the German Army utilized primarily Dunkelgrau (Dark Grey) painted vehicles. This wasn’t just tanks, but armoured cars, half-tracks, even some of the kitchen wagons were painted the same very dark greyish colour. This was not entirely unintentional, as at long distances, grey will tend to ‘blend’ into the surrounding colours effectively. At closer range, however, or on a high contrasting background (like snow) it stands out.
