🎻 鋼琴已經調過音，點解仍然夾唔到小提琴？ 今次是一個真實調音個案。 一位小提琴學生準備考試，伴奏老師到學生家中試琴時，發現小提琴和鋼琴無法準確配合。學生其實也知道聲音有問題，但未必能夠用技術語言說明原因。 經量度後發現，這部鋼琴的 pitch 已經明顯偏低，最高需要升接近 80 cents，差不多是半個音。 很多人以為鋼琴「調過音」就一定準，或者自己彈起來好像沒有太大問題，就代表可以用來伴奏或考試。但其實鋼琴一旦要和小提琴、長笛、聲樂或其他樂器合奏，pitch 問題就會即時被放大。 其他樂器通常可以即場微調，但鋼琴不可以。 如果鋼琴pitch本身太低，整個合奏都會被它拉低。 今次我用了大約兩小時，先將整體 pitch 拉回A=440，再逐步進行調音。對我來說，這不只是一次普通調音，而是一個很好的例子去說明： 調過音，不一定等於 pitch 已經真正修正。 自己彈可以接受，不一定代表可以和其他樂器準確配合。 — 🎻 The piano had already been tuned, so why still couldn’t it match the violin? This is a real piano tuning case. A violin student was preparing for an exam. When the accompanist visited the student’s home to rehearse, they found that the violin and the piano simply could not match properly. The student actually knew something was wrong, but may not have been able to explain the problem in technical terms. After measuring the piano, I found that the pitch was significantly low. Some areas needed to be raised by almost 80 cents — close to half a semitone. Many people assume that once a piano has been tuned, it must be correct. Or if the piano sounds acceptable when played on its own, it should also be fine for accompaniment or exams. But once a piano has to play with a violin, flute, voice, or any other instrument, pitch problems become much more obvious. Other instruments can usually adjust their pitch on the spot. A piano cannot. If the piano is too low, the whole ensemble is pulled down with it. In this case, I spent about two hours first bringing the overall pitch back to a usable level, and then gradually tuning the piano properly. For me, this was not just a normal tuning job, but a very clear example of an important point: A piano being tuned does not always mean the pitch has been properly corrected. And a piano sounding acceptable on its own does not always mean it can match other instruments accurately.
