March and March Holds Third Jeffreys Bay Protest July 2026

Supporters of the March and March Movement participated in a protest march in Jeffreys Bay on Thursday, 16 July 2026, raising concerns about undocumented foreign nationals and drug dealing in the community. The march took place during the morning and formed part of ongoing protest action involving residents from Madiba Bay, Ocean View and Pellsrus. Participants previously marched in Jeffreys Bay on 27 May and 10 July 2026, when similar concerns were raised with the police and other relevant authorities. The protest action forms part of the broader Abahambe movement, through which participants have called for undocumented foreign nationals and drug dealers to leave the communities. Previous marches focused on concerns about crime, unemployment, illegal migration and the effect of drugs on local families and children. Sphelo Tana, a community volunteer with the March and March Movement, said Thursday’s action marked the third time protesters had taken their concerns to the authorities. He said participants were frustrated because they believed the issues raised during the previous marches had not been adequately addressed. Tana said drug dealing remained a concern in the community and that undocumented foreign nationals continued to live and operate in the area. Sphelo Tana, community volunteer with the March and March Movement: This is the last time now we send our memorandum. The people have had enough. It is enough. The movement called on the South African Police Service and other relevant authorities to respond to the concerns contained in the latest memorandum. Following the conclusion of the march, Dolphin Drive was reopened to traffic. Motorists were advised to continue exercising caution and to follow instructions from law enforcement officers and traffic officials. #KougaNews #JeffreysBay #MarchAndMarch #AbahambeMovement #CommunityNews
