Solo Rut Hunt in My New Favorite Spot

As a deer hunter from the Southeastern United States, it was the dream of a public land, DIY mule deer hunt that lit a fire inside me, specifically in Colorado. Something about the snowy hills, crisp mountain air and big muley bucks in the rut just got me going. After 5 years of learning about mountain hunting in the western United States, and getting to observe and hunt with some of the best, it was finally my time to do a solo DIY Mule deer hunt in the Colorado third rifle season. I had just two goals, to fill my tag with a mature 4 point mule deer buck and do it all on my own. From research, to e-scouting with @onXHunt to boots on the ground scouting, glassing and stalking, this hunt was all on me. God gave me the desires of my heart, my dream hunt as I was able to use all the skills I had learned over 5 seasons of mountain hunting and pack out heavy off some beautiful public land on opening day.
