All New Gimisum Family - Stack What You Make

DJ VJ [DaMusicManne] Busy out here folk, but thought id throw up some more classics. Here's a junt from Skinny Pimp's "All New Gimisum Family" tape from '95. Released right after Lil Gin's solo "Shake Junt", this underground EP was 4 tracks deep on some serious bump. Comin from production exclusively outside the 666 Paul/Juice; Big Jag worked the drumtracks alongside mixing with Willy Dogg and and a few live features bringing in that classic bass and lead strings which was what Memphis always known for. "So Many Reasons" itself was an all time classic track. You can tell Skinny had some real ambitions working this tape together. The only real downside was it was short lived. I wouldve loved to seen this lineup grow onto a few project. But heavy work in '95 with Lil Pat, Paul, and Juice for the upcoming album strayed the way onto bigger things and real venues. The tape remains a lost gem to those that had luck to hear it. With tapeshop circulation moving also out in Atlanta and Houston, Skinny's underground success throughout the south coupled with 666 moving up, helped make the Gimisum Family a new name outside the M. These were the years. Real Classic.
