Hiking The North Downs Way - Folkestone to Dover #4k #hiking #walking #outdoors
23 May 2026 My wife and I are preparing to walk the Great Glen Way, a 76-ish mile trail between Inverness and Fort William. However, we are not experienced hikers and knew we needed to start practicing in earnest not only distance, but ascent/descent too. So, we hopped on two trains and one tube and headed down to Folkestone to attempt the Two Harbours Walk between Folkestone and Dover along the clifftops. Won't lie, as an induction (around 17km) in parts ot was brutal, for an inexperienced hiker, BUT we did it!!!!
