Bus Build in Japan - Episode 51. Our bus conversion engine stopped working. A few months ago we purchased a 2004 Nissan Civillian ex-police bus and started our off-grid camper van conversion project here in Japan. In this self build camper van Japan conversion episode, we face some problems with our bus build engine. After completing a small self build campervan conversion in Japan in early 2020 and then spending 18 months enjoying full-time Japanese camper van life, we always had the idea in the back of our minds that we’d like a tiny home in Japan which is a little more spacious and comfortable for full-time Japan van life. We absolutely love living in an off-grid camper van in Japan and are excited to continue this nomadic lifestyle and embrace full time bus living. Van travel in Japan in our off grid camper van build has been an incredible way to overland Japan and get off the beaten path. We visited so many amazing places during our slow travel camper van road trip in Japan. Converting our own DIY camper van build in Japan has been one of the best decisions we have ever made and Japan camper van life is so easy due to the huge amount of Japanese roadside stations, free campsites and onsen throughout the country.
