Now that the Portugal Golden Visa is officially a very bad deal, one of the most affordable options to get EU access is to invest in real estate in Greece through the golden visa. The minimum investment amount is €500,000 in Athens, the main cities and main islands. However it is possible to invest only €250,000 in small islands and still get the residency. The island of Lesbos or Lesvos is particluarly cheap, and offers very reasonable rental yields and cap rates for investors.
