Eric Clapton - Double Trouble, live, 1978, Glasgow, Apollo, Rolling Hotel

One of the finest live performances of this song, quite lengthy, atmospheric, and full of feel. A shortened version of this live rendition was included, and can therefore be heard, in the a documentary movie entitled "Eric Clapton and his Rolling Hotel". This is the full recording, with no cuts. After searching for it for quite a while (as I enjoyed it very much), I was very delighted to find it on the internet, being uploaded as part of a bootleg recording. From there, I selected the audio part that corresponded to "Double Trouble", and extracted it. Then I associated it with a photo of Eric from that period (late '70s), which I also found online. And this is how this extraordinary rendition of "Double Trouble" can stand out, alongside some of the other great renditions of the song. I believe this rendition is out there, with the very best... And I think it's a pity it's not so well known and widespread, such as the one included in the "Just One Night" live album... Because, alongside some scorching guitar runs and some groaning vocals, I find this version of the song to be particularly interesting (and somewhat special) for featuring an uptempo funky-jazz part that develops, roughly midway through the recording, from the downtempo blues arrangement. This approach to "Double Trouble" is quite rare, for Eric. And as a huge Clapton fan that I am, it makes me great pleasure to share this beautiful piece of music with Clapton enthusiasts out there, and not only.
