Also present at the meeting were several interfaith figures and academics, including Sinta Nuriyah Wahid, wife of the 4th President of the Republic of Indonesia, KH Abdurrahman Wahid; former Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Saifuddin; Cardinal Ignatius Suharyo; Father Magnis Suseno; Reverend Gomar Gultom; Professor Eri Seda; Karlina Supelli; and former Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Laode M. Syarif. Laode M. Syarif revealed that one of the main points discussed with Megawati was the current lack of transparency in lawmaking. He believes the government and the House of Representatives (DPR) often neglect adequate public consultation. "The current legislative process is almost entirely devoid of adequate public consultation. In fact, what the public voices is not reflected in the laws produced by the House of Representatives (DPR) and the government," said Laode at the Megawati Institute in Central Jakarta, Monday (June 22, 2026). Based on this, the National Conscience Movement urges the government and parliament to return to listening to the aspirations of civil society in every political decision-making process. "Therefore, we ask the parliament and government to please pay attention to what the public is saying. That's just one example; there are many others," Laode emphasized.
