This Imambara in Lucknow was the work of Mohammad Ali Shah and was built in 1837 AD. It is also known as the Chota Imambara. It is believed that Mohammad Ali Shah was buried here. The Imambara also houses the tombs of Mohammad Ali Shah's daughter and her husband. The main Imambara is topped by a golden dome, believed to be the tomb of Ali Shah and his mother. Opposite the tomb is an unfinished clock tower called Satkhand. Construction was halted after Ali Shah's death in 1840 AD. At that time, only four stories of this 67-meter-high clock tower were completed. During Muharram, this Imambara is beautifully decorated.
