"Chou" (Fatal Frame 2) - English Lyric Cover

This is a cover I've been meaning to do for a long time. There's a song from the early 2000's, a J-Pop song by Tsukiko Amano. Being J-Pop, it's in Japanese, and what I always wanted to do was take the direct translation (available online, I certainly can't translate it myself) and rearrange it so that it works in English. A few things about it: 1. Though it's not a word-for-word translation, I did want to stick closely enough to the original meaning of each stanza and section so that, looked at side by side (as this video is arranged) you can tell it's the same song, even just from seeing the "side by side" of the words alone. 2. I did take some artistic liberties at times, but tried to keep it so that even when I did so, it was either an embellishment or a different spin on what was, in fact, there or implied in the original lyrics, or in the story told by them (the song was originally credits music). 3. The places where I took enough artistic license to insert a totally new line that wasn't at all there before, which was sometimes possible due to Japanese saying things that can be said with far less syllables in English, are written in pale yellow instead of white, just to acknowledge that the line isn't an embellishment or reinterpretation of an original one. That said, I only did this to that degree three times in the song, and each time was still "reading between the lines" or restating something that was, in fact, in the song originally. As for some background about the song and words, although the tale for which the song serves as credits music is supernatural and outlandish, underneath all that is a very human story about the strong love between two twin sisters, tainted by tragedy and the weak sense of identity of one sister who basically loses all sense of her own identity out of a desire to never have to part with her twin. She wants a oneness with her sister that, in this worldly life, is simply not possible, and this results in tragedy. That's what the song is about, and as I arranged the lyrics, and as I sang it, I thought of all the times my own identity has been weak and porous, when I tried to find my identity and worth in others I admired, losing myself at times in the process and resulting in my own tragedies, mistakes, and unfading scars. But even in the midst of such blurred identity crises, there is the hope of finding one's own wings and flying. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the meaning of this song, as well as my own lyrical arrangement of it.
