Sailing Greece: Seeing Dolphins & Whales in the Mediterranean

In this episode, we leave Kalamata and sail south along the rugged Peloponnese coast. After days inland exploring ancient sites, it feels good to be moving by sea again — and this stretch of coastline gives us one of our most memorable passages so far. Not long after leaving, we spot beaked whales offshore, followed later by dolphins playing around the boat like they came to check us out. We sail along the wild coastline, past steep hills, empty slopes, and dramatic headlands, before anchoring for the night in Porto Kagio. The next day, we continue toward Elefonisos, but the sea changes again...the sea fog rolling in around us as the horizon disappears. Sailing Bluefish is our long-term Lagoon 42 ownership archive in the Mediterranean — documenting real family life aboard, passages, anchorages, weather, wildlife, and the decisions that come with living and sailing full-time.
