Some were disillusioned by family, having been abused and controlled, while others are excited about “family,” having been spoiled, saying they don't give up on you, or enjoying the company of grandchildren. One woman refused to tell how old she was, because she felt offended by the world’s expectations on people about age. One young man said that he was cyber-bullied by multiple former “friends,” including a young woman he trusted with secrets. (Jesse made fun of "Mexicans" who came and made disruptive noise in church with their noisy plastic bags.) Jesse traveled Friday and Saturday to the Stand4Truth Conference put on by David Pickup, a therapist who helps boys and men overcome homosexuality. Coming back on the plane, Jesse chatted with an elderly Asian couple who’d been married 40+ years. Jesse asked their secret. The wife said that she does not know the husband, but that he knows her. Although some did not like this idea, Jesse agreed that a man should know his wife, but not tell his wife his weaknesses and problems.
