James M. Robb State Park Colorado - Convenient I-70 Stopover - Full Review

We're Bill and Christina, and we're sharing our review of James M. Robb Colorado River State Park - Island Acres Section (that's a mouthful!). Located just off I-70 near Grand Junction, we stayed here as a convenient stopover on our way to Zion. We paid $37.90 for an electric site plus the $10 Colorado day-use fee (or get the $80 annual pass). We'll tell you about the campground amenities including free hot showers, laundry facilities ($4.50 total), full and electric hookup options, and big rig-friendly pullthrough sites. We explore the flat gravel trail along the Colorado River, discuss wildlife viewing (bald eagles, maybe bighorn sheep?), the closed swim beach, and nearby attractions like Colorado National Monument and Grand Mesa. Bill thinks there's not much to do here compared to other area parks like Rifle Falls, while Christina loves the canyon setting and trees. Great connectivity with cell service and Starlink. We'd stay again as a convenient stopover, but it's not our top pick in the area. Cost: $37.90 for 1 night for an electric site Entrance Fee: $10 per day https://cpw.state.co.us/state-parks/j... We're Christina and Bill. We travel full time, mostly in the US in our RV. At first we traveled in our self converted camper van and recently upgraded to a small class C RV. We mostly stay at state parks across the country and after realizing how different they all were in terms of booking, costs, amenities, etc., we decided to start reviewing them. At this point we've probably been to a few hundred state parks across dozens of states, so we feel we are a benchmark for US parks.
