Don’t Toss That 90’s Cabinet | Furniture Flip with Moulds, Milk Paint and Glaze

This little 90’s cabinet got a full makeover, and I had way too much fun transforming it into something with a lot more character. The original cabinet had heart cutouts on the doors, which definitely gave it that dated country look, so I decided to completely change the feel of it by covering those cutouts with resin moulds. From there, I built up layers of texture and color to give it that aged, grungy, romantic finish. For the base, I started with a pink paint from Wise Owl Paint, then layered on two different green milk paints to create depth and variation. I also used Saltwash for added texture, then finished it off with topcoat and glaze from Paint Couture to bring out all those details and give it that old-world, worn-in look. One thing I always like to remind people is that you do not have to stick to just one brand when you’re creating. If certain products work well together and help you get the finish you’re after, mix them. I use products from different brands all the time depending on the look I want, and this cabinet is a perfect example of that. The pink base from Wise Owl, layered with milk paint and finished with Paint Couture products, all worked together to create a completely different piece. If you’ve got an older cabinet sitting around that feels dated, don’t toss it. Sometimes all it takes is some texture, a few layers, and a little creativity to turn it into something completely unique.
