John R. WLAC Broadcasts-PLEASE Read Description
In the summer of 1985, before his passing in Feb. 1986 and after learning of his health issues, I wrote John R. a letter of appreciation to him and donated to request his broadcast tapes he was selling to raise money for his cancer treatment. Never did I expect a photo, personal autograph and note. I treasure it to this day. Many a night in my teen years of the '60s I'd flip that A.M. radio dial to WLAC and listen to John R. until I went to sleep. These tapes encapsulate the essence of the man. Please visit https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_R. for a good summation of his career. There are many other sites with info about this wonderful man. John Richbourg was a force in the '50's and '60s with his programming of R&B music. Broadcasting from Nashville, his show was a staple to all who loved R&B. This is side 1 of tape #1. I have 3 full tapes that he sent to me. This homage to John R. was requested by my friend Kenneth Ferguson. PLEASE DON'T use foul language or make crude comments here. Take it somewhere else. Those comments and any mention of JS will be deleted immediately. And you may be blocked. ty
