Tigaki Beach is on the northern coast of Kos, about 11 kilometers from Kos Town. You can easily drive or bike from the island’s capital. Alternatively, use the frequent bus service for a journey that lasts approximately 20 minutes. Tigaki is one of the most beautiful places on the island to enjoy a refreshing swim and a relaxing time under the sun. The long beach stretches for 10 km featuring a shore of silky white sand. The waters run clear and are pretty shallow, making this a popular destination among families with small kids. Along the coast, you will find many colorful sunbeds and umbrellas while the beautiful scenery is a mix of flowers and lush greenery. Tigaki Beach is perfect for young children and inexperienced swimmers, because the water is shallow. If you want to do more than swim and wade by the shoreline, cruise the water in a paddle boat. More adventurous types can get on a windsurfing board and go searching for big waves. Tigaki is a nice spot to practice your favorite watersports, with activities such as windsurfing, paddleboarding, and jet skiing being widely offered. Beginners can take part in practice sessions at the training center on the beach. Go for a long stroll along the shore, then savor some refreshments in one of the many bars, restaurants and hotels surrounding the beach. They range from intimate local haunts to luxurious resorts. Come back to them at night for drinks, an evening meal and to listen to some live music. The nightlife here is laid back rather than raucous and energetic.
