Home Assistant 2026.5 is a BIG One… You Didn’t Expect This

The Home Assistant 2026.5 Beta just landed, and this one is huge and likely the best one of the year so far! There's some massive changes in this release including one that many people have been requesting for a long time. The May 2026 beta release of Home Assistant (2026.5) is here and it’s packed with some serious updates! I’ve been diving into the beta to see what’s new, and there are some huge improvements with one MASSIVE addition that many people have been asking for. This release continues on from the introduction of Infrared in Home Assistant and includes even more updates for automations and triggers and conditions, new built in dashboards and some great new cards. Yet again we've got a huge list of integrations, and great improvements if you've got a robot vacuum or robot mower in your smart home.
