The series began serialization in March 2018 and depicts the battle between curses born from negative human emotions and sorcerers who exorcise them with sorcery. With 23 volumes published to date, the series has sold an astounding 80 million copies. The first season of the TV anime aired on the Mainichi Broadcasting System and TBS affiliates from October 2020 to March 2021, garnering a huge response not only in Japan but around the world. Furthermore, on December 24th of the same year, "Jujutsu Kaisen 0 the Movie," a prequel to the first season, was released, sparking a huge global movement. The second season, scheduled to air in 2023, will depict "Kaigyoku/Gyokuori," the story of Gojo Satoru and Geto Suguru's time at technical college. The past, which hinted at in the movie and led to Gojo and Geto's estrangement, will finally be revealed.
