It is a very delicious and nutritious tropical fruit. A little hard to find here in the States, and chances are they will be expensive here. They are super cheap if not free in places like the Philippines. They are also known by the names of milk fruit, star plum, cainito or caimito, tar apple, purple star apple, golden leaf tree, and a few other names. On to the information! What does Star Apple taste like? It is hard to describe the unique flavor of the Star Apple. It is kind of like a mix between watered-down sweetened condensed milk, blueberries, and lychee or rambutan. Something along those lines. It is very juicy and refreshing tasting.
