Holach! How to sew a changing pad. In this video I will show you how to sew a changing pad with a pocket for diapers and wipes. It is a slow paced tutorial for beginner sewers to follow. A great gift to sew together for a baby shower gift or for your new baby. Quick measurement overview (not all directions): Need Outer fabric (I used cotton), linning fabric (I used PUL fabric), stabilizer (I used lightweight) , optional is padding (I didn’t use padding because I had done my daughters with padding and it took up too much room in my diaper bag. This is not supposed to serve as a place to lay baby for anything other than to quickly change the baby, a quick slim easy grab and go. Trust me from experience do it without the padding. However, I am all for figuring out life through experience so you can still add the padding in if you are inspired to do so.) Type of closure : Tying it together (cut strap longer than 20”), Hook and Loop (or velcro), button, snaps (that’s what I used) Start with a 38" height x 20" wide rectangle. Cut out 14” height by 4.5” wide from the bottom corner of the rectangle, repeat for opposite side only on the bottom. Should be left with 11” wide by 14” height on the bottom that is centered on the bottom. My strap is 5.5” wide x 20” length. The length is more important then the width so be sure to get that 20” if you are following my measurements.
