Hope Behind Bars

"Remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison." - Hebrews 13:3 Tom and Wendy Horton have been involved in prison ministry for 14 years. Each week they spend over 10 hours bringing hope to inmates across the Illinois correctional facilities as part of Willow Creek's Prison & Jail Ministry. Every year Willow Creek dedicates a weekend of services towards packing Christmas gifts for every incarcerated person in the state of Illinois. This year over 70,000 Christmas gifts were packed and shipped not only within Illinois, but to four other states as well. Each pack includes a Christmas card, Bible study and journal, an activity book, pretzels, honey buns, brownies and candy bars.
