He is a member of the scientific committee of "Historia Religionum." He has conducted his research in Japan, focusing on Buddhist and Shinto ascetic and esoteric traditions. For outstanding academic achievement, he was awarded the "Order of the Rising Sun, Golden Rays with Roses" by the Japanese government in 2012. He has also studied the new languages ​​of contemporary religiosity and the problems posed by the coexistence of different faiths.
