Spotlight: Monster

The largest, and perhaps ugliest railway locomotive built in the 1830s. Conceived by Robert Stevens and Isaac Dripps of the Camden & Amboy Railroad, "Monster" was designed to handle heavy freight trains. A locomotive of which one commentator said "Why George, that engine looks like its been in an awful wreck." Music: Toccata (excerpt) and Fugue in D Minor (BWV 565) by J S Bach.
