Old Fashioned Bread Pudding with Warm Lemon Sauce

It's been a long time since I've made a bread pudding, but so many of you have been asking — and I'm so glad you did. This old-fashioned bread pudding came together with just a few simple ingredients I had right in my kitchen, and the warm lemon sauce that goes over the top is what really takes it home. The recipe was inspired by an old DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) cookbook a friend recently shared with me, and tasting it took me right back to my mama's kitchen. The best part? Any bread you have on hand will work — even leftover biscuits or a loaf that's gone a little dry.
