All But the Bath: This prewar one bedroom apartment needed a transformation, and more! The kitchen was a typical galley – 7 x 10 overall – but had a great window over the sink and the adjoining room was dark. We included absolutely everything we could to make this a dream kitchen. By removing as much of the kitchen wall opening as possible and by using glass panels in the cabinetry around the window, this north facing layout suddenly became brighter throughout the dining/living room. We installed new doors, moldings and trim, combined closets to a wall to wall bedroom closet, updated electric, added architectural accent walls and ceilings to create focus areas in the foyer and kitchen, along with fabulous paint detailing was all this diamond in the rough needed to find its brilliance! It’s wonderful to know that in the process of creating a contemporary, warm abode for this lovely client, we also changed her life!! She’s absolutely thrilled.. and so are we.
