Buddy Landel discusses his legendary matches vs Shawn Michaels, offering to put over Ahmed Johnson & back when Sunny was 100% sober. Full shoot interview ➤ http://TitleMatchNetwork.com The late great "Nature Boy" Buddy Landel had just put on a classic match against WWF Intercontinental Champion, Shawn Michaels in Smoky Mountain Wrestling. This was one of the biggest nights of Landel's career since his heyday in the mid 1980s vs Ric Flair. Buddy was immediately brought into World Wrestling Federation with former SMW owner, Jim Cornette. Landel is the one who offered to lay down for Ahmed Johnson at an In Your House PPV. Shane Douglas was talking to Vince about his back being hurt and not wanting to wrestle Ahmed, so Buddy jumped at the opportunity. There was another instance where Bob Backlund allegedly didn't want to put over WWF Champion Bret Hart. Again Buddy Landel offered to do the job for Vince. Buddy was rewarded with wins on TV against Bob Holly & Matt Hardy. During this period, Landel would frequently ride the roads with SMW alumni Chris Candido and his girlfriend, Tammy Sytch (better known as Sunny). Hear about a sober Sunny back when she wouldn't drink or party with the wrestlers. Unfortunately, Landel's WWF run came to end when he was injured slipping on ice and hurting his knee.
