Oil Surges 11.8% To Lead The Week’s Commodity Gains

📩 2--min Survey: https://stevebarton.substack.com/surv... 📩 Free Newsletter: https://stevebarton.substack.com/ 📈 Technical Analysis for Beginners: https://stevebarton.gumroad.com/l/Tec... 🌎 Travel Channel:    / @inittowinittravel   Recording Date 7-24-2026. The S&P 500 slipped 0.6% as semiconductor stocks, technology companies, and corporate bonds began flashing signs that investors may finally be rotating out of overvalued areas. At the same time, the U.S. Dollar Index climbed 0.7% and the 10-year yield jumped 2.9%, creating a major macro setup ahead of the Federal Reserve meeting. My base case is still that Kevin Warsh and the Fed hold rates steady, but a surprise increase could strengthen the dollar and trigger the commodity washout sale many investors have been waiting for. Gold gained 1.3% and is tightening inside a triangle that I believe is more likely to break higher, although I still have limit orders ready near $3,500 to $3,600 in case the market hands us bargain basement prices. Silver rallied 4.6% and continues to offer an attractive risk and reward setup, with support near $54 and much larger long-term upside if the bullish commodity cycle continues. Copper gained 1.5%, while uranium rose 0.6% as the spot price held near $86 and term pricing remained at $95.50, reinforcing my view that summer weakness should be used to accumulate quality exposure. Oil delivered the monster move of the week with WTI jumping 10.6% and Brent gaining 11.8%, but both markets have now filled important gaps and reached technical levels where I believe a reversal lower is becoming more likely. Natural gas, thermal coal, platinum, and several producer funds are showing bearish or neutral patterns, while palladium and nickel are beginning to present more interesting opportunities. Bitcoin finished down 0.9% with another bear flag taking shape. Key Insights in this episode ✅ S&P 500 Fell 0.6% and I remain bearish as technology weakness spreads, with the 6,600 gap still in focus. ✅ U.S. Dollar Rose 0.7% and a breakout above 101.8 could push it toward 103, pressuring commodities. ✅ Gold Gained 1.3% and is nearing a major triangle breakout, though I am prepared to buy a drop toward $3,500 to $3,600. ✅ Silver Jumped 4.6% with support near $54, resistance around $64, and strong long term upside. ✅ Uranium Rose 0.6% as spot held near $86 and term pricing stayed at $95.50, supporting my bullish outlook. ✅ WTI Oil Surged 10.6% to about $93.50, but I now see greater risk of a reversal unless it breaks toward $96.
