Pourquoi Mallarmé n’aimait pas baiser ?

👉 My newsletter: https://bit.ly/lecrivaillon-mails 🎥 In this video, I comment on the poem "Sea Breeze" by Stéphane Mallarmé. ____________________________________________ Sea Breeze The flesh is sad, alas! And I have read all the books. Flee! Flee there! I feel that birds are drunk To be among the unknown foam and the skies! Nothing, not the old gardens reflected by the eyes Will hold back this heart that soaks itself in the sea Oh nights! Nor the deserted light of my lamp On the empty paper that whiteness defends, And not the young woman nursing her child. I will leave! Steamer swinging your masts Raise anchor for an exotic nature! A Boredom, devastated by cruel hopes, Still believes in the supreme farewell of handkerchiefs! And, perhaps, the masts, inviting storms Are they the kind that a wind bends over shipwrecks? Lost, without masts, without masts, nor fertile islets... But, oh my heart, hear the song of the sailors! ____________________________________________ 🫡 SOURCES: 🗞️ Article: • Mallarmé, woman, love, poetry: https://www.arllfb.be/ebibliotheque/c... 📜 Outline: 00:00 Why was Mallarmé so bored with life? 04:30 Introduction to "Brise marine" (and reading) 05:51 Commentary on the poem
