Remembering.. THAT go-around! BA 747 G-CIVW. Final landing. Dunsfold. Oct. 2020. #aviation #747

G-CIVW entered service with British Airways on 15 May 1998 and by the start of the COVID 19 Pandemic, had amassed 90,530 flying hours- one of the youngest in the BA 747 fleet in fact! The aircraft initially flew to Bournemouth at the start of the pandemic, remaining there until 11 June 2020 and then flew to Cardiff Wales until 22 October 2020, when it took its final flight - from Cardiff to Dunsfold as flight BA 9178. On reaching Dunsfold, the aircraft flew a visual circuit around the airfield before approaching and then performing a stunning go-around on finals to the runway. Here is a reminder of that G-CIVW - first taxiing in service - BA 295 to Chicago on 13 February 2020 at London Heathrow - and then performing the go-around and final landing at Dunsfold.
