2025 Topps Chrome Platinum Hobby Box Opening — Better Than Blasters?

Today I’m opening a 2025 Topps Chrome Platinum ’55 Baseball Hobby Box for the first time on Go Big Sports Cards. I loved the blasters from the last Topps Chrome Platinum release, and with hobby boxes already pushing higher on the secondary market, I wanted to see if the hobby version is actually worth the price. This 2025 Topps Chrome Platinum Baseball Hobby Box has 4 cards per pack, 20 packs per box, and one on-card Chrome autograph per box. The set brings back the classic 1955 Topps design on modern Chrome stock, with a huge checklist of current stars, rookies, legends, refractors, numbered parallels, 1955 World Series inserts, Double Headers, rare City Variations, and Cards That Never Were. With current MLB hype around Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge, the Phillies, Braves, Dodgers, Brewers, Yankees, rookie chases, and the All-Star push, this is one of the most interesting baseball card products to rip right now. In this box, I’m hunting for color, low-numbered parallels, X-Fractors, rare short prints, a big on-card auto, and anything tied to the 1955 City Variation chase. This box produced a lot more numbered color than I expected, plus refractors, inserts, X-Fractors, a City Variation, and the guaranteed autograph.
