Ken McNabb: Flying Lead Changes
Join Wyoming horseman, Ken McNabb, in this episode of Discovering the Horseman Within to learn how to complete successful flying lead changes with your horse. “So, the first thing we need to talk about when we start thinking about flying lead changes is proper lead departures. If you don’t have your horse taking the correct lead every time you ask, you will never achieve the flying lead change, or at least not consistently. You may get it by accident every once in a while. Make sure you have successful lead departures down pat! We get in our horses’ way frequently and that varies the lead change. So, I am going to show you how to get out of his way and stay out of his way. Watch along in this episode as I teach several exercises to help prepare you and your horse for a successful flying lead change on cue. Important Notes: One huge mistake I often see people make is that they get into the habit of diving into the flying lead change. Be careful not to let this happen. It is not a proper change for you or the horse. I hope you find these exercises helpful!” Until Next Time, May God Bless the Trails You Ride ~Ken McNabb kenmcnabb.com Discovering the Horseman Within Diamond-McNabb Ranch Horse Sale
